Hello and welcome to impro studio!
I am so glad you've found your way here! Whether you've come via personal invitation, recommendation, or pure happenstance, I hope you will enjoy your stay!
This is the first post on impro studio's brand new website and my first blog post in almost 2 years. This is so exciting for me! impro studio combines everything I love and do. And my hope is that it will become a collaborative project in combination with many other people's loves and doings.
With this blog section, I wish to provide you with a build-your-own-adventure style journey experience of improvisation. My aim is to include text, images, audio and video material for you to engage with in your own time.
There may be a little bit of structure to it here and there, most likely topic based, however, my invitation to you is to journey on in a non-linear manner: steer off the path, take a u-turn, and plunge yourself into the depth of not-knowing where to go next. That's exaclty what I'll do now.
Initially, my inspiration for this website was this image:

The chairs remind me of the two chairs we have on an otherwise empty improvisation theatre stage. They often provide the base of a scenario that can take place anywhere where one might sit down: a dinner table, waiting room, or car, perhaps. But of course we can also stand on, crawl under, or even wear the chairs. I've seen chairs being hugged, thrown, and worshipped.
So initially these chairs spoke to my love for them. After sitting with them on my homepage for a while - see what I did there - however, I started to pay attention to the suspension line, which litteraly holds them linearly.
So rather than becoming my title picture, they now have the honour of being part of my first blog post, do demonstrate to you how important it is for me to pay attention to the shape, form and direction which impro studio will take from here on forward.
All events, workshop, and course offers will be presented to you on a platter which you can choose from. Read the invitations and see which one speaks to you at this point in time. We will do our best to provide clarity on the type of journey we want to take you on. For more info, we are also curating a Questions with Answers Q&A.
I think this provides you with a decent introduction. If you're curious to find out more about me as a person, here you can find my impro studio autobiography page.
I look forward to meeting you!
